From July 13-18, 2016 we were thrilled that my sister and her family were with us to visit! They were doing a BIG trip from Illinois with friends in a camper, but for part of it they stayed here in Utah and got a rental car :) The first day they got here we got them settled and then we went to Leatherby's! It's a super yummy ice cream place here. I had taken Heather here once and she wanted her kids to experience it! The picture above was funny- I have been driving the Subaru more than my big truck to save on gas until Carter gets home so I've bee out of practice with parking my truck. But I sure got SUPER close to that other bumper! WHOA!
The kids had a hard time deciding what to get! There's so many yummy flavors to choose from!
They ended up sharing this one and as soon as the picture was taken they grabbed spoons and were fighting over spoonfulls! YUM YUM!!
While Heather and Doug ran in for drinks the girls and I were taking car selfies! hahaha! Aren't they the cutest!! I just love these smiles!
The next morning we went to watch Will's football team do a spring practice for a few minutes. We thought it would be fun for them to see the school/field etc.
Then it was off to Scheels! There's nothing like a full size ferris wheel INSIDE a store to get you excited! They had never been on one before and they LOVED it!
The next day it was time to hit the pool! Willow Creek Country club re did the pool and this summer was the first season it was open! It's gorgeous!! And my sweet in laws let us get lunch there too! It was a real treat!
Brianne told me, "Mom you've got to get a picture of us on the side of the pool like when we were little"! haha!
Payton decided she wanted to learn how to dive and within minutes she was a diving CHAMP! I was so impressed! I had to get my kids into diving LESSONS and even then Brianne STILL can't do it! Haha! Heather got up there, showed her what to do and BAM! There she went!
After swimming it was time to go and get Kong Kones and Macey's! It's a Utah MUST! We did these with Lisa and her kids too! I wish I had gotten pictures of the kids faces when they saw how HUGE they were! haha! And they are SO yummy too!
Another pool pic- the weather that day was just perfect! :)
The next day it was time to go down town and show the kids the church sites. They have never been to Utah so they were excited to see the temple and conference center. We did a short tour at the conference center and our tour guide was awesome.
They loved seeing everything up close but it wasn't long until they started getting tired.
So we walked across the street to the City Creek Mall and called Chan to come and meet us for lunch! We needed to re-fuel before we started out again! We also took Traxx up and back so that we wouldn't have to worry about parking etc. It was fun!
Will had football and work so Brianne was my buddy! We had fun taking pictures at all the sites too! Might as well act like a tourist too right?!
After we saw all the downtown sites we decided we were VERY thirsty and needed to go visit Will at Swig! He was in the shack so we said hello before going inside!
We all ordered some yummy drinks before heading home! We were pretty pooped out!
The last day they were here we decided to go up to Silver Lake and do a picnic. We packed up some yummy snacks in a cooler and headed that way. It's funny too because you forget how much cooler it is up in the canyons! When we got up there to eat we were COLD! There was a breeze and the temps were lower. So we decided to take the little walk around the lake. It was another beautiful day!
I don't have many pictures with Heather- especially RECENT ones! So I was thrilled when this one turned out so great! How lucky I am to have such amazing sisters!
All the cousins together!
Heather and her family! Can't beat that beautiful view!
Some of the funnest parts of them visiting was just spending time outside! They played football together, ran in the sprinklers, did lots of chalk art and of course tried out the pogo stick! They were a tad bummed that they missed Carter by only a few weeks so they made him huge poster board cards and left them in his room for when he got home! Cutest thing ever!
We loved having them visit and wish they were closer so we could play more often! But these memories will hopefully last until we can see them again! They are growing up so quickly!! Thanks for coming to visit you guys! We love you!
