SNAP!!

I somehow accidentally deleted this picture from the other post- it's Carter practicing snaps with one of the quarterbacks. It's looking like a good one! Go Carter!!

It's game day for Carter!!!

Well it was game day for Carter on Saturday! He had a scrimmage against South Summitt High School which for those who don't know (and I sure didn't) it is about 25 miles east of Park City. It was a fun game to see because they got to play on a very nice turf field!! This is the boys stretching/hitting to get ready!

Here is a picture of Carter and coach Hill. He is awesome!! We LOVE him and his family- his son plays on the team and his wife is the team Mom. Carter just got the thumbs up to play full contact on Friday, so coach only let him play offense, but he did end up bugging him so much that he let him play one series of defense too! He did really well and his knee felt great!

This is halftime- the boys came out gangbusters and were playing really tough but were starting to lose it a bit and coach was letting them have it! That's why I took the picture from a distance- hee hee! But whatever he said seemed to work because they brought it back in the second half!

This is them in their winning huddle!! They were jumping up and down- it was way cute! I love this team- all the boys are awesome! They played very well and won against the A team 39 to 21. They made a few mistakes, but I am sure that the coaching staff will be working those all out this week. Way to go ALTA BLACK!!!

It's game day for Will!!

It seemed to come pretty fast but Will's first game, a scrimmage against Grantsville Cowboys, came this past Saturday. Will is on the "dirty bird defense" and the punt return and this first picture is him when he first took the field! He was soooo exited and I must say he looks pretty tough in his game uniform! The next picture is Chan giving him a bit of advice- he does this often during games and it is really helpful. Sometimes it's just to let him know he needs to get a bit tougher and other times it's to help him with his fundamentals! The next picture is Will eating his oranges at the half. You can't have a game without halftime oranges can you? The next picture is Carter giving Will some advice. Funny enough sometimes Will listens better when it comes from his big brother- it was too cute of a scene to NOT take a picture of it!!! And I always get several pictures of the boys in their helmet- it looks so awesome! And even better when they have a big smile on their face- and Will sure does because he is LOVING football! They won this game with a final score of 13 to 7 go Alta White!!

Friday's pep rally

Chan and I had the pleasure of helping Carter's team do a pep rally last Friday. We took the big ATG box truck and had the boys do a team building exercises. I made the cool signs of course!!

Here is the coach getting the boys psyched and ready to pull the 16,000 pound truck!!
Here is Carter listening to coach- he was the only player that knew about this and was very exited to do this!! Here are the boys actually pulling the truck! It was awesome! I actually teared up for a minute! I think they got what we were trying to tell them which is you can't win a game by yourself - you need your whole team behind you!! After they pulled it they got some great feedback from the coaches, got some great food and were ready to tackle the big game (scrimmage) at South Summit High School!!

Where it all started...

Way back when a guy named Chan played little league football for the Alta Hawks too! He would be number 70 in this photo- yip that is Chan!! He played and his Dad coached him as well. So that's where it started for our little family- was with their Dad! He played virtually the same positions as our kids as well, so he can give great advice to our up and comers! Chan played football as center and guard until his sophomore year at Alta when he injured his knee. He loved it and so do our boys! I am glad that they have Chan to help them along- he is an awesome Dad and a pretty great coach too!! We LOVE ya!!

Go, Go, Go Mom!!

Okay, so lately I feel like I am running ALL THE TIME!! Between everyday errands, physical therapy with Carter and the boys football practice and throw in an occasional softball game with Chan and any other church related stuff- I am never standing still!! I have been wanting to do something on here for a couple of days but truthfully have not had the time! And believe it or not summer is at it's end! I can't believe how quickly it went! But we did have a lot of fun, and I think there is still more to be had! But Carter starts school this Thursday with his 7th grade orientation and then then whole gang begins next Monday. I think they are all pretty ready- especially Brianne. She is pretty exited!! And once they start school - as if I was not busy enough- I start working again! Some of you know I was working at Brianne's Montessori school last year, but this year I was planning on just being home. However, a great offer fell in my lap so I will be working in the family business at the warehouse two days a week! I will go in at 6am and get out at noon. Perfect hours for a Mom with kids in school! I'm a bit nervous about getting up that early, but if I could do it last year I can do it again! It is hard to believe I have kids this age where they are all old enough to be gone most of the day- CRAZY! It seems like yesterday that Brianne was born! I keep telling her she can stop growing now but she just laughs and tells me she can't. But truthfully I am soooooo exited for them and am very proud of them. They are great kids!! I have my days where I feel a bit overwhelmed, but I wouldn't want it any other way! I will take some 1st day of school pics and pass them along to all of you so you can see their excitement! I think Carter may be a bit of panic, but maybe his new phone will help him feel a bit more excitement! Anyway, enough of my mumbling!! Pictures to come real soon- and some of football as well we have our first scrimmages for both teams this Saturday- wish us luck!! GO ALTA BLACK AND ALTA WHITE!!

"Silly rap" by Brianne and Will

Playing with my Sis...

So the other morning I was getting ready to take off to go to run some errands and Brianne and Will had decided to stay home with Carter while I did them. Brianne was doing her usual fuss over what to do while I am gone, but we got it all worked out. Will and her were both in my room and all of a sudden Brianne just asked Will if he wanted to play fashion designer and pick out her outfit for the day! Will immediately made a face and was like- NO! but I told him she just gave him a pretty good opportunity for him to get her to wear pretty much anything! Even something totally ugly! So his face lit up and he went into her room with her and for the next few minutes all I heard were the sounds of rifling through a closet and laughter. The next thing I know she came out sporting this festive outfit!! Way to go Will- you could have embarrassed her big time, but it actually came out pretty cute! And the best part was you made your sister very happy!!

PS- he had to go fix his hair into the faux- Mohawk before he would let me take the photo!! Too funny!

So this year we decided to let Will play football!! he has been begging for a while now, but we waited till we felt he was truly ready for it and even then hounded him for at least a couple of days to make sure he understood what was expected of him! But he is now an official Alta Little league gremlin player on the Alta white team!! GO WILL!!

He came home last night with a hilarious story that I have to share! He is playing guard on the offensive line, but last night his coach tried him out at center. So when we got home we were telling Chan that he had done that and chan wanted to see him in action, so he grabbed a ball and had Will show him his stuff. He did a great job!! And then he proceeded to tell us that he just gets that ball to his "hitstick" and then it will be perfect!! And yes, what your imagining is the "hitstick" is exactly right!! we were all dying laughing!! Leave it to Will to find a laugh in whatever he does- but he did give the coach credit because it was apparently the coaches word for it! Too funny!!

GO ALTA!!

So once Carter got his injury and we got him into therapy needless to say he has improved quite a bit, but I couldn't let it all go by without "documenting" what he does there. So I followed him into therapy on Monday and snapped a couple shots of him doing a few of the things they do to him there. This is a shot of him in the whirlpool where he stands and lets the warm water hit his knee for about ten minutes.

This next one is of him on the bike. he does this for about ten mintes as well. gotta work those muscles and get them back to their true form!!

And lastly here he is getting his "ice and Stem" as Chan calls it. Basically it is a VERY cold compress and electrode therapy going on underneath. Carter was very impressed with himself today because he told me he usually goes to about a 12-14 on the dail for the electrode therapy, but today he went up to 21!! he is trying to get the most out of it and we can tell because he is improving quickly! You go buddy!!

OUCH!! POP!!

Here is Carter is his usual Alta gear- yes the season has begun and both he and Will are playing this year! It was an exiting tryout week and they both landed on awesome teams! carter's first day of practice with his team he was practicing tackles and landed right on his left kneecap- there was an ouch, a pop, and then some screaming afterward! He was pretty bummed he got hurt and went home that day and started to swell! We got him into the doctor on Monday morning to find out exactly what had happened and by then the swelling had gotten better but not great.

This shot was taken Monday morning before we got him off the the doctors. You can kinda see the bruising on that knee. We found out it was a sub-luxation of the kneecap. Basically he dislocated his kneecap and it slid back over on it's own. So we immediately got him into physical therapy and he is doing exercises to gain the strength back in that knee and the muscles around it. He is doing REALLY WELL and will be back on the field in about a week and a half- but he's not counting or anything- yeah right!!!
GO ALTA BLACK AND ALTA WHITE!!!

IT'S CURB APPEAL TIME!!

When there are all kinds of big trucks and beeping noises it's hard to sleep, so Brianne woke up to join Chan to watch all the commotion outside.

It has been rather exiting and a bit loud around here the last few days! When we moved in 3 years ago we knew we needed a new driveway because ours was already falling apart, but we had too much on our plate already. So, we finally took the big step and decided to do it this summer. This is the huge concrete truck getting it started!

This was the "first pour" the west side and the other was done the following day. It is amazing to watch how they do this! It's a talent!

Here is Chan and Will sitting and watching all the workers! it's a pretty fun thing to watch!

Here is Carter and Will being silly- they could have been entertainment for the workers but they were a bit busy at the time!

Here is the finished product!! We are so exited to use it, but unfortunately we have to wait two weeks before we can drive on it!!! AAAARRRGGGG! But they tell me I will be glad if I wait and I am sure they are right. Thanks to the hard working guys who made our curb appeal much much better!!
