Carter Update

I had to do a quick update on our missionary! He has officially been out for a year! YIKES! Time is starting to go even quicker! He has been in the Daytona Beach area with a new companion Elder Doman who he LOVES! They get along SO well! He has even been trying to talk Carter into being a walk on at Dixie State! They are both Zone Leaders and loving where they are! I was also grateful for "Grandpa" who is a mission leader in their area who gave Carter this new suit! It was something he bought for himself years ago but he no longer wanted and it fit Carter perfectly! So wonderful!
He sent this picture this week in his email. Apparently someone else took it but I LOVE it! It's an amazing photo of Daytona Beach at sunrise!
I couldn't be prouder of this kid! He is doing amazing things as a missionary! He is learning and growing every day! I love reading his emails and hearing the funny stories along with a few spiritual experiences mixed in! It just makes me even more excited to see the direction he goes when he gets home! Way to go Elder Crismon! We love you!!

Homecoming!

The Homecoming Date began in the morning with breakfast at IHop! Chan and I went out early that morning and got his car cleaned and then Will and I vacuumed it and cleaned the windows so he would have a nice clean car to pick her up! His date Jessica and him are good friends and they knew they would have FUN!

After breakfast it was time for some laser tag and bowling! Thank goodness for snapchat or I wouldn't have snagged these cute pics! :) They had a blast with their group doing BOTH of those things and now it was time to take them home so the girls would have plenty of time to get ready!
In the meantime, Will picked up the corsage and went to his friends house to set up an outdoor movie for after the dance.

Then he came home and threw on his suit and tie and was out the door! After he picked her up we all met up at his friends house to get group pictures! :) I was glad that I got to get photos of Jessica pinning on his boutonniere! It's sweet!
And Will putting on her corsage! I was so excited for him to go to his first school dance!
I think they look darling together! The outfits match well and they are both grinning ear to ear! Darling!
I had to get a shot with Will's shoes! Haha! It was her idea for him to wear those and I loved it! Very stylin'!
This is a shot of their whole group! A bunch of GREAT kids! They really had a ton of fun together!

I insisted that they do a silly picture and they did a few! Here's a couple of the best ones!

Will loved his "air high five" with Woody in this one! Haha!

These guys are so cute right?!!! There's nothing more fun than good boys all dressed up! Haha!
And these girls are pretty AND wonderful kids!
Then it was off to dinner at Texas Roadhouse for some yummy food and give them fuel for the dance floor!
I grabbed these pictures off the school Facebook again (I love that they post these! ) It looked like a fun time to me!
Will was telling me that the boys always end up taking off the jackets/vests/ties etc and the girls remove their shoes and they are all in a pile in one spot! I would have LOVED to see that! Haha! He also said that the dancing was fun and he had a great time there! After the dance they went up for their outdoor movie before coming home. It's always a great sign when they come in smiling and that was the case here! Yipee! It was a success! :)

Homecoming game!

The homecoming game was a blast! We played Mountain View from Orem and it was our first time going up against them. The first thing we noticed was that their crowd was almost non existent, which was kinda sad. I'm not sure why that is? Maybe they've never had a great team- I really don't know.
What I DO know is that our Hawks were ready for them! Will played a lot of special teams again and was able to go in on defense in the 4th quarter since we had a VERY comfortable lead! Our crowd was INSANE and very hyped up due to Homecoming. It was a fun atmosphere!
I love all the traditions for the Homecoming game too- the royalty, the dance numbers and the huge group number with them all together. It's awesome!
These great kids came away with an incredible win over Mountain View! There's no better ending than that!

Brianne and Will after the game!
Me and Will after the game!

Now on to the dates and dancing!! :)

Homecoming Pep Rally!

Right after the win over Copper Hills Will ran home to do a quick shower before coming back to Alta for the Homecoming Parade and activities! He was asked to participate in one of the sport competitions where you wear a big ball and run into people! Hahaha! I'm not sure what the actual idea was to the game other than it was the different classes competing with each other! But it is hilarious to watch- there's NO doubt about that! Here's a quick video of them while playing...

They also do a tug of war and many more! It's always a good time and this year was NO exception! Alta has the BEST school traditions!

I snagged this picture off of the schools Facebook page from that night! Haha! I have no idea what they were watching right then but they all look pretty serious! Haha! But he had a great time and was SUPER excited for Homecoming game the following day! Bring it on! :)

JV vs Copper Hills

This game was an unexpected change. We were supposed to play Mountain View JV but it was changed last minute to Copper Hills at our field. I was grateful because it is MUCH easier for me to get to from work AND I was able to go home to pick up Brianne so she could come too! Yay! It was also a wonderful change for Chan's parents who were now able to come and see it! :)

And Will had a GREAT game! He even caught a ball! Copper Hills was trying to do an onside kick and it went literally straight to him! He caught it and just dropped where he was! It was awesome! And of course I wasn't prepared to take a photo because I had NO idea THAT was coming!!
This team is not in our region anymore. We used to play them but now that we are 4A we no longer have them on our schedule. I was expecting them to be good because their school has been improving in ALL their sports and have become quite competitive, but on this day it was ALL ALTA!
This picture and the one above it are the same play. I was so proud of him! It was a great stop!
I think this game was great experience for our guys! They were a big team and had depth- even for a JV team!
This was a fun game to watch! The perfect way to kickoff Homecoming! Right as this game was ending the Homecoming parade was getting ready to begin! Way to go Will on an awesome game! :)

Oklahoma Trip

On Friday the 18th I jumped on a plane after work and headed to Oklahoma! My nephew Brigham left for his mission on the 14th fro Curitiba Brazil and I KNEW that my sister and her family were going to need a visit! Especially my sister- I know how hard that first week of him being away was going to be so I wanted to make it FUN! I arrived LATE on Friday night so after a short visit we all went to bed! Saturday Lisa and I and the kids went out shopping a bit! We went to Hobby Lobby to get a frame for Brigham's picture to hang on the wall and while we were there I bought some silly fall crafts we could do together :) We also hit the dollar store and even went to check out the pet adoption event going on at Petco just for fun! It was a fun day!

Car Selfie with the Godwins! :)
Brigham's mission picture in the frame we picked out!
Sunday morning we all went to church. Their chapel is right next to the temple! How cool is THAT! It was pouring that day!!! We were hoping to get from the car to the church without getting drenched! Then Lisa told me that they have their YW class across the street in a members home! I was like WHAT?!!! Apparently their Ward has gotten so big that there aren't any classrooms left so off we went across the street....
We have it in a home in their living room! OKAY!!!! Isn't that crazy?! But it IS a lovely home and was very cozy for our lesson! :)
I snapped this of Sam ad I when we were walking back after YW! She's getting so big and gorgeous! After church we went home and had some dinner. I also helped Lisa start a blog for Brigham's mission. She had a blog years ago but couldn't remember how to do it! And truthfully I think I started her old blog too! hahaha!

We did a lot of laying around and visiting and laughing! I taught the family Carter's game about naming your last poop with a movie title! Steve and I were laughing so hard at times I couldn't breathe! It was hilarious!! He had some GOOD ones like Blazing Saddles, risky buisness and fast and furious! Hahaha! I know it's kinda gross- but FUNNY!!!! :) And it made everyone laugh which is what I was going for!
Sunday night we did our crafts! This garland is a small craft we got from Hobby Lobby for $2.50! It turned out so cute!
Then we went on to our silly wood coloring crafts! These are really for little kids, but it was fun to do! I am bummed I didn't get a photo of Alex's turkey she did because it was AWESOME!
I was glad that Sammy had a ton of sharpies to use because the colors on those are much better!
I did a turkey! He didn't turn out as good as Alex but it was fun!
That night Lisa, Alex and I went out on her front porch to chat and we watched the sun go down. It's so pretty where they live and the sunrise/sunsets are always breathtaking.
The next day it was just Lisa, Alex and myself and we had a lot of fun! We went to a large Christian bookstore that had really neat stuff! Lisa had always just driven by so I told her we should check it out! I actually got a few cool items for Carter for Christmas! Win win! we also went to the dollar tree where we found these sill masks! Alex in the dino one KILLS me!!!
This I may have purchased if I didn't have to pack it for home! Is that not the funniest mask you have ever seen! Put on an adult footed PJ and your SET! Haha!
I snapped this photo my last morning in OKC from Brigham room- it could be a post card!
On this day we went to get pedi's! I haven't treated myself to one of these in a long time and this place was fabulous! They did a great job!
After the pedi we headed to get a treat at their favorite cupcake place where I discovered....
the "Cake Parfait"!! Ummmm YES PLEASE! It's basically cake and frosting layers in a cup! And it was fantastic! I am glad it's 2000 miles away or I would go too often! Haha!
It was such a fun trip and I am so grateful I was able to be there for my sister! I think I needed it as much as SHE did! It was wonderful and I wish it happened more often! I have really amazing sisters (and I am NOT biased at all!) Haha!
Chan did an awesome job with the kiddos while I was gone and even took them out to breakfast one morning. How blessed I am to have the family that I have! Love them ALL!! :)

One funny side note is while I was there I was looking through old photo albums and found this gem...
It was taken in Lisa's apartment before we were married! When I saw it my first thought was- I remember that orange shirt! He wore that all the time! Haha! Then I was struck by just how YOUNG we are! So funny! Had to share! And I love this guy even more today! I'm a lucky lady! :)
