Football Fanatics!!

Well unfortunately this week I was unable to go to the boys games, therefore I have no pictures to attach this week! But it was good news all around!!

Will did exceptional at his game and even got an amazing tackle which he said "God helped him do"! He was also in on another great tackle with his teammate! He has really stepped it up, and I am sure the money he earns for each tackle behind the line of scrimmage has helped a bit too! But hey- we'll do it if it will keep him playing like he is!! Good job Will!! Way to help you team get your win!!

Carter did really well too! He was able to sack a quarterback that was 5 feet 11 inches tall! You go dude!! Chan said all you could see was this hand come up and grab the quarterback's jersey- too cool! He is also playing at his best, but he is old enough now that incentives are no longer needed- he just likes hitting!! His team was also able to get a win- way to go Carter!!

Little Brianne had a football experience of her own this week! One of her good friends Dad is the offensive coordinator for the University of Utah, so her little friend asked her to go to the game last Saturday night! She was so exited to go! She had such an awesome time! Her and her friend got yummy treats, played barbies, colored, watched the game periodically, and played some more! But the best part is that after the game they put their pink pass stickers on and got to go down on the field where the players were and wait for her friends Dad! So she was able to meet some of the players and be on the field! can I just tell you how jealous her older brother was!!! It was pretty cute! She had an amazing time and even came home with a new Ute shirt on! But my favorite story from her experience was that when they were playing with the barbies her friend threw one and it landed on the field! But thankfully they were able to save her after the game when they went down there- whew!! Funny girls!! Way to be such a football fan Brianne!!

Then last night we had Chan's parents over for dinner. They told us it was only their 2nd home cooked meal since they moved out of their house (due to remodeling) on the 26th of August! Poor things!! But we made some yummy BBQ chicken and sat around the big screen to watch the Eagles/Bears game. It was so much fun to sit there in between Chan and Carter and listen to them tease each other and have Papa chime in here and there! Gamma and I had a few comments in there every now and then too- but more than anything it was just fun family time! Isn't that what sports are all about? Fun times with family!! It has been so fun to go to all the boys' games and watching a little Sunday Night football with everyone was a blast too! I could do this all the time- if I only had more energy! So let's all be family football fanatics!!!

Remembering Mema

Today Chan and I met up with his sisters, parents and others from work to plant a tree in honor of Mema in memory grove. There is a monument there for Charles Crismon and we planted the tree just a few feet away from it. The family company donates money each year to an organization called Tree Utah and it was this organization that helped us to do this very special thing. It was neat to be able to be there and help- pretty much everyone jumped in to help dig the whole and center the tree etc. And when it was all done we got a couple shots of all of us who were able to come. It is a beautiful tree and will only get better as it gets bigger. It also flowers with pink buds in the spring- Mema would have loved that. I am sure she was thinking we were all pretty silly to remember her in this way, but all of us enjoyed it very much! She will always be a part of Memory grove now, and our little family will be able to drive there in our new truck which is also a thank you to her. (hence the license plate photo :) ) I hope you all enjoy the picturetrail of our time there! We love ya Mema!!

Alta Black vs Brighton

Well Carter did his best to pump himself up for this game- it was a big one! He listened to his i-pod the whole way up to Park City where our game was held. He had his game face on and was rearing to go, but once we got out of the truck and discovered he had forgotten his pads and helmet we thought we were in serious trouble!! Thankfully Gamma and Papa were coming, so they saved his can and brought them up- THANKS GAMMA AND PAPA!!! This is Carter with his game face!!

Here's the team heading off the field after the half- they were playing pretty well, but needed to step it up a bit more. At this point the other team had not scored on us, but we were looking a bit battered- so off to get yelled at a bit and back to the field!!

The weather defiantly played a part in this game- it was a wet one!! The rain came in bursts and when it was raining in was really coming down! This is the offense in a huddle- you go get 'em guys!!

It was an awesome game- we had them beat right to the 4th quarter. It looked to be a shut out, but with only a few minutes left in the 4th quarter a coach from the opposing team came up to speak with our defensive coach during a time out. The discussion was to allow for a touchdown by a member of their team who has special needs. Of course our team agreed and while we all watched this boy on their team ran for a touchdown with at least 5 of our guys following him. It was amazing- just writing it down now brings back all the emotion of it! There were not many dry eyes from those watching it! And of course our boys also allowed for an extra point- to give their team the only 7 points earned on that game. It was awesome! And if that weren't enough- the Coach talked with the boys after the game about empathy and the importance of always remembering others. He was choking up while talking to them and all us Mom's were teary eyed. It was a really special moment- one to never forget!

This is a shot of the final huddle before we all left. The boy who ran in that touchdown came over to say thank you and all our boys ran over to him and gave him praise for his amazing play. He is a darling boy! And because he was there the coaches and team included him in their last huddle. WOW- what an awesome team! Way to go Alta Black!! A nice win with an even better memory to share!

Alta White vs Granger

Well this week our opponent was Granger and once again it was a very exiting game to watch. Chan got both boys up and going pretty early on Saturday and was trying his best to get them pumped and ready for action! His recipe for this was to listen to some motivating music REALLY LOUD! Wish you all could have heard it! In this picture Will is just left of the ball.

Well I think Chan's work paid off because Will was amazing on Saturday!! He broke through the line twice and on one of those was able to get to the quarterback and sack him and caused a fumble while he was at it which our team recovered!! This is a picture of Chan congratulating Will, and that is his coach telling Chan that's what he wants to see! We were all pretty exited!!

This is Will's joyful face after that Huge play! He was so exited! I just hope we continue to see that guy that played on Saturday- he was awesome!!

This is Will's fan club! Grandma and Grandpa Gilbert have come to most of Will's games and cheered him on!! We are so glad they come- it's fun to have some extra voices to cheer him on!

Here's Will's other fans!! Brianne and Gamma- they have been to almost all of the games as well. It's always more fun to play a sport when you have your fans to witness your talents!! Especially when you have a shutout like we did that day!! Nice win Alta white!!

My tribute to Chan...

I created a picturetrail (above) for Chan!! I want him to know he is the BEST hubby, father, friend, etc etc etc! Some of my favorite things about him are how he plays with the kids. He will turn on his i-tunes real loud in his office and the kids will dance, or on the many trips to the lake he is always there with them playing with trucks in the sand or a remote control boat in the water! He is also there to lend support in whatever they are doing- which right now is football!!
He is also such a great cook!! I totally lucked out! He can make things that I wouldn't even dare to try- like Parker house rolls from scratch! Who does that?!!
I also love our anniversary trips!! Anything from Las Vegas to Park City- doesn't matter just fun no matter where we go!! We will laugh and be silly just like we were when we first met- I hope we never stop doing that!!
I also love what a great friend he is- anyone who meets him would call him a friend! He has a way of making people feel comfortable- it is truly a talent! He even calls the waiters/waitresses in places we eat by their names- what a cool guy!!
So thanks babe for all you do- I love you tons!! Thanks for the family you helped me build and for all the fun memories and more to come!!......

Lookin' very much like fall!!

Well here is the pictures of the porch that I promised!! I think it looks very fall-ish!! I am very exited to finish with some corn stalks in a few weeks. I just want fall to get here sooner- I love it!
My little scarecrow gourd has a light in it! Isn't it cute! I have quite a few gourds for Halloween as well! I think they are very cool!
Gosh- even my bricks on my house look like fall! I guess it's a meant to be that I love it so much (my house and fall that is)!!

Alta Black vs Woods Cross

Here is Carter looking real mean in his Alta wear!! There's nothing more scary than a lineman!! And I have to say that the mouth gaurd in the face mask is a nice touch don't ya think?!
Unfortunately this is where Carter spent the game on Saturday after re-injuring his knee last week. It is a tough thing to stand and watch when you want to PLAY, but he did a good job cheering them all on.
Watching this tough game, and watching their team get scored on for the first time this season was tough, but it was worth it because they pulled away with another win! This team is very fun to watch- there are some very talented kids on his team! Let's all hope that Carter will be ON the field this weekend!! GO ALTA BLACK!!

Alta White vs West

OH YEAH IT'S ON!!! This is Will's game face! Pretty mean huh??!! I wouldn't want to be face to face with THAT- would you?

This is the team right before the game doing a hitting drill to get all psyched for the game!

This is the kids coming onto the field after the half- Will is in the shot on the left side running in! They really love doing this and it is fun to watch. This was a tough game for them. The guys on the other team were HUGE and they came to FIGHT, but we fought back and WON!!

Fall is almost here!!!!

I had to change my page a bit because I can feel fall in the air!! I was home doing some cleaning this week and part of that was cleaning out our car. While I was finishing up I happened to walk by our many containers of "deco" in the garage. I couldn't help but grab the fall items and get them on the porch. I LOVE this time of year!! I love football season, the chill in the air and being able to leave the windows open at night, the smell of burning leaves and the way the mountains look when the leaves begin to change colors. It's a wonderful time of year! I know it's not technically "fall" yet, but it can't come quickly enough for me!! Only thing left for me to do is to buy my pumpkins and corn stalks!!

HAPPY (coming) FALL Y'ALL!!

P.S.- I'll take a photo of the porch later!

Alta Black vs Copper Hills!

It was definately an exiting game here! The
other team had some real big boys but they
could not handle us!! The boys played really
well! In this picture Carter is just behind the
center. He plays center and guard on the
offense, and then also plays defensive tackle.
Here is coach Hill giving the boys a bit of a pep talk.
Carter is the player on the far left- you can
never get these boys too amped up! They took this
game from the start and never let up!
Here is a picture of Papa giving Carter a little praise!
I think he enjoyed the game too! This team is
quite an improvement over all the others he's
played with. This game ended up being a blowout
with a 34-0 win!! You go Carter keep it coming!!
GO ALTA BLACK!!

Alta White vs Cottonwood Colts!

Well it was another fun filled Saturday at Fields
in Sandy and West Jordan! Will was the first one
up to bat on the home field against the cottonwood
Colts. It was an exiting game to watch- we scored
pretty fast and it was 14-0 but then it got a
little tense there in the third quarter but...
the boys rallied together and started to play
their game again! Cottonwood had scored on us
twice and the game was tied, but when they got
into it again they brought their defense and
were fighting!
Here is a picture of Will (the one squatting) on
the dirty bird defense! They did a great job and
held Cottonwood and they didn't score again
but we did!!! We won the game 21-14!! Woo
hoo!!
This is a shot of Will after his game- he did a
great job!! GO ALTA WHITE!!!

Enjoying school so far...

It is still hard for me to believe that Brianne
is in first grade, but she is enjoying it quite a
bit! I have been very proud of her! Here is a
shot of her with some of her first couple art
projects!

I was able to go to the elementary back to school
night this past week and in Will's class I walked
into the classroom and his teacher had all the kids
make these "faces" of themselves and had them all
bring a sweatshirt to put on the back of their chairs
so when I walked in it looked like all the kids were
there! It was so cute!! And I think Will's face looks
just like him don't you?!

Our Labor Day Weekend

On Labor Day weekend we were happy to have
my parents and my two sisters Heather and Lisa
staying with us. My Dad's Mom, my grandma,
passed away the Tuesday before and so they all
came so we could all attend the funeral. It was
a beautiful funeral- probably the neatest I have
ever attended. Even though the reason for their
visit wasn't the best- we still had a lot of fun having
them all stay with us. It was Heather's first time
to my home here and I was thrilled for her to see it!
This is a picture of the kids with grandma Panko
and Pa Boo before they left on labor Day.

Here is a picture of my cute sisters with my Dad!

This was a funny moment! Heather decided to
try on Will's helmet and it FIT!! Crazy! Will's
head is big! And because of the funeral that Sat.
I wasn't able to get pictures of the boys games
but they both won!! Go Alta!!
