Camping in the Uintas!

(July 29-31)
No joke, the kids had JUST gotten home from Moab, they showered and packed to go camping! They are real troopers! Barely had time to shower and get clean clothes and off we went! But at least they had great stories to share!
This spot was lovely and quite cool! I guess that's one thing that was better than Moab! Haha! The only bad thing was that there was a fire just north of us so the sky got a little smoky for a while the first afternoon/evening.
There was a really cool creek just down from our site. The kids loved going down there to walk along and explore.
Will and Sophie were hanging out down there and sometimes she would go on his shoulders rather than get her feet near the water. I will admit when he did this and walked across a log I was a bit nervous he'd lose his balance but he didn't!
 Sophie exploring!
Here's a shot of that fire sky! Doesn't smell that great but it does look kinda pretty!
Heading out on a walk and Chan brought his little pocket GPS. We haven't used it in years!
I loved Tom's hat! And this lake was sure pretty! It was a short walk from our camp spot. So we all walked over and went along the shore.
Throwing rocks into the lake! Why not!
Exploring makes you hungry so we alwys had plenty of snacks on hand! And I love that Kathy took the flowers the kids gaver her and put them in water bottles for centerpieces! :)
We also drove around a bit in the area and checked out some other sites. We went to a fairy garden and added our own colored rocks and wood creations. It was tough to get there. Had to go through a river bed and through a campground but once you get there you see all sorts of interesting gardens that people created.
I loved this waterfall! It was so pretty! And people were swimming in it! Had we known we could have brought our suits and gone to play in it! It had a similar feel to yellowstone.
Brianne got addicted to making these little stacks of rocks. She said it was like natures version of tetris! Haha! She even brought one home with her!
Gamma brought some home too! Not sure where they'll go, but I guess we'll find out! Haha!
The last night we played music and had marshmallows and got out a few games. It was fun!
The last morning Chan made breakfast for all and did a dutch oven one. It was so yummy! And we made it easy for ourselves by preparing everything before we left so all we had to do was put it together and get it on the fire! YUMMY! Another successful camping trip! Only a couple weeks now until Carter will be home and can join us on the next! Yay!!!
