Sweet Music

There is nothing more precious than hearing sweet music being played by a young student! Brianne has been taking piano lessons for about 2 months and had her first recital just a few weeks ago.
She was hardly nervous at all, but I have to admit that the song she played was not long at all... maybe 20 seconds!
She did an amazing job! She had to stand and say her name and what piece she was going to play before she sat to play it.
If she is this confident in playing before a crowd I can't wait to see her in a few years when she has more time under her belt! I am soooooo proud of her and can't wait till the next recital! Way to go Brianne!!

On the way to the game it was just me and Will. he was listening to his music getting himself ready to go and at one point on the way we were right by the Jordan River Temple. he turned to me and said Mom and I just said a prayer and I looked at the steeple on the temple. I know that it will help! How cute is that! He also wore his lucky rabbits foot under his football pads!

The Playoff game this week was truly the most INTENSE little league football game EVER! It was literally scoreless all the way through. The defense on both sides was keeping the game in the center of the field! So the game went into overtime and each team had a chance to score. Hunter was up first and again our defense was STRONG and they held them- no score! It was our turn to try and get into the end zone and their defense was holding strong, then it was 4th down and our quarterback managed to slip away from a tackle and run in the ball for a touchdown! AMAZING!! SO now it's time to go on to the Championship game! WOO HOO!

After the game was over and we were on our way home I asked what he thought helped during the game- the lucky rabbits foot or the prayer and his answer was the prayer did the trick! I love the faith he had in that Heavenly Father would be with him! So great!

Also, there was a boy playing on our team who got really sick this week and was in the hospital. Will had the idea to put his number on their cheeks so that he'd be with them at the game! Such a great idea!! And we were thrilled to see him show up after halftime doing MUCH better! He still can't play, but we were thrilled to see him doing well!

Can't wait for the Championship game!! Go Hawks!!

Birthday fun!!

This year Brianne's 9th birthday was a
blast! We did the usual family traditions
of the birthday spread when they wake
up and letting Brianne choose a place to
go out to eat for dinner with the family,
but this year we added a special surprise!
A few months ago she said for her
birthday she wanted to spend it with
Tammy (my best friend and their
Godmother). I told her that I didn't
think she could do that since she works
and lives in St George, but when I called
to tell Tammy about the request she was
ON IT! She got time off work and the
surprise was SET! So the day after her
birthday we went to the school and
surprised her, took her out of class and
went shopping for the day! We went to
the mall (where she got the darling hat
in the photos), went to lunch at Chili's,
went to the "Sweet Tooth fairy" for some
cupcakes, then to Justice, Michael's for
some craft projects and finished off at
Rod Works (a home decor store which
is a favorite for Tammy and I) where
even Brianne found something for her
room! We had sooooo much fun and I
have to say I think I had as much fun
as Brianne did! It was a blast to shop
together and laugh and take silly pictures!
I loved every minute! Happy
Birthday Brianne!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

It's Halloween Time!! This is a fun time of year! I can remember looking forward to it just like my kids do! I love taking them out trick or treating and watching them get excited over getting a "full size" candy bar or getting to pick their own! It's also fun to see how the people at the doors react to their costumes etc- it's a fun holiday! This year we went to our neighborhood trunk or treat and we decorated the truck and even had a spooky CD on to make it even scarier!!
Thanks heavens for AC adapters!! I brought my light up gourds to decorate my truck with! It was fun! Then the next day it was trick or treating time! We spent Halloween with Chan's family (it's tradition)- eating his Mema's chili recipe and going out trick or treating with their cousins. I shot some pictures of my kids before we left for Brooke's house.
Brianne was Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz and our Dog Teddy made the perfect Toto! (But no I did not take him with us!)
So cute! All the way down to the sparkling red shoes!
Will is in LOVE with Iron man!! He's a HUGE fan of the movies, so this was an easy pick for him. The best part.... his costume is actually just a toy from the store! So he can continue to play with it all year! Yay!
Watch out! He might get you!
Carter decided to raid our Halloween container and see what we had in there and he found this costume that I bought him 3 years ago- it's a Ghostbuster costume!
Got the pack and all- he's ready to get those ghosts!
There's just nothing better than a Ghostbuster! I love that he wanted to dress up and go out with his family! We were excited to hit the road!
Here's a shot of them with their cousins Dakota- the rasta guy, Myles- Spiderman and Sophie- a snow leopard! The weather here didn't cooperate too well so we weren't out too long. but we are definitely enjoying the candy! YUM!! Happy Halloween y'all!

Football update for week of October 30th

So this game is a BIGGIE! The players decided they wanted to do a "Blackout" which is basically wearing all black!!They wanted to LOOK tough and they did!! Gramma Kathy came to watch the game so I got this cute shot of her with Brianne :)
Papa Tom came too and so did their cousin Dakota. We had quite the gang to cheer and we needed it! This game was a big one because we needed to win in order to get the spot we wanted in the playoffs.
Our team started out and was on fire!! By the half we were winning by two touchdowns and it seemed that it was going to be the same for the second half.

The second half was VERY different! You can tell what I mean by looking at the faces in this picture! It was INTENSE!! The Cottonwood team came back hard and got 2 touchdowns as well- so it was quite a fight!
In the last few seconds of the game we had the ball and had enough time to get in ONE play. The ball snapped and our quarterback took a knee........ huh?........I was confused?.........Until, I heard one of our parents say that our first touchdown we had gone for a two point conversion and GOT it! So........
WE WON by ONE point!!!! YAY!!!! I loved this shot! Will picked up his friend Wade! So cute!
The next thing I see is one of Will's coaches running over to the boys wearing this Santa suit!! It was his way of celebrating with the boys and it's also motivation for them because he said he'd wear it again if they won next week! So cool!
So here we come playoffs!! Can't wait!! BRING IT ON!! GO HAWKS!!
