Knee update
Well we went to hear the results from the MRI and it was actually a bit of good news! His knee joint and cartilage all looked really good! So what's the problem then? Well back in his 7th grade year playing football he had a subluxation of the knee cap and apparently when that happened a small piece of cartilage chipped off from under his knee cap and has been floating around in his joint! So, we will still have to have an arthroscopy of his knee to get the floating piece out and he also recommended doing a lateral release because the groove in his bone where the knee cap rests is very shallow. So by doing the release it relieves some of the pressure put on the knee cap and will make it less likely to slip in the future. It wasn't what we thought he was going to say, but truly it was better news than we thought we were going to receive! So, we are getting a second opinion next Wednesday from Chan's knee surgeon, who is also a good friend to the family, and if he agrees then we will have him do the procedure as soon as possible. So it seems that the knee adventures of the Crismon family are continuing on! Good grief!

Seriously?!!... and more
I had to write a quick post about something I did a little over a week ago. It was a Thursday and I was scheduled to go at 1pm. I arrived at the high school on time and waited for Carter to join me in the media center. Then, shortly after, I sat there as the school counselors talked to the kids and parents about the process of choosing the classes for our kids senior year.................... Sigh................... SERIOUSLY??!! I am NOT this OLD!! I have a child that in less than a week will be choosing his SENIOR schedule! I am really getting freaked out! Add to that the wonderful change in General Conference about missionary age going to 18 and I am in the realization that Carter could be putting in papers for that before even touching a college campus. It's funny too because it REALLY doesn't seem that long ago that I was spending time with him reading book after book about tractors and trying to wean him off a pacifier! However, there is also a LOT of pride associated with all this shock. I am in awe of the young man he is becoming and I know that when he does go out into the world he'll be ready for it! I suppose I could work with him a bit better on doing his own laundry, but aside from that, he's good to go! I am sure over the next week we will be chatting over his choices for courses and I'm sure I'll push him a little toward things I think would be helpful. I am excited for him and I know that no matter what he gets he'll have an awesome year!
I figured I should also put in an update on his injury too. We took him to an orthopedic doctor over a week ago and he did the basic X rays and all those came back great. His knee on those could have been in a text book! But he could tell, because of the swelling, that there was more there. So he had us go in for an MRI on his knee. We are meeting with the doctor again tomorrow to get those results, but we are almost positive he has a torn meniscus. Not what we wanted to hear but if that's confirmed then he will have to have it scoped as soon as possible. The Varsity team is getting ready to play their first playoff game this Friday against Riverton and it really bums Carter out that he won't be playing another down this season. But after some long chats I told him he needs to find his place on the team in a different way. To be a leader, someone who puts their arm around a player having a tough day or the first one to give a fist pump after an awesome play. He took my words to heart and has done exactly that. As soon as we have confirmation though, I will write it here :) My favorite part of his season has been helping on the boosters. I have enjoyed SO MUCH being there every Friday to feed these guys! It's fun to see them interact with each other, see their excitement of what food we have managed to get, and to hear the coaches and their inspired words to these kids to motivate them. It's really been a joy! And if all goes as planned I will be in charge of these dinners along with another Mom next year! I am excited! And even though my guy won't be playing on Friday, we will still be there cheering on his friends and team mates. This team is really close, a brotherhood if you will, and I can't wait to see how far it will take them!!

Vroom Vroom.... here we go!!
Well after some "mechanic love", registration and testing and a bit of cleaning Carter's ride is now READY! He has already been driving it to and fro and is LOVING having his freedom!
I'm loving it too! It's so nice that he can get himself to school, practice, parties etc! He's my busiest kid and I'm glad that with his own wheels he can handle himself!
We didn't pay much at all for this truck and as I said before, it needed a bit of love, but all considered it's a pretty neat little truck! We did get him some seat covers for the front seats and some new floor mats, but other than that it looked pretty dang good!
I think one of his favorite parts is that it had a nice Pioneer radio deck in it with a USB plug so he can listen to his ipod! Life is good! Watch out peeps here comes Haley Honda!!! :) Yes he named it already! Love it!

Cheer joy!
This past Saturday I snapped some great shots of Brianne doing her half time dance. She was really rocking it out!
Her personality was finally coming through and you could tell she was having a blast!
This will be the 4th year of her cheering for little league and her confidence has grown a little bit every year!
I was so proud of her and the job she did on Saturday! Her little cheer team is doing an awesome job!
This is my favorite picture! This is Brianne to a T!! Literally "Cheer JOY!"
Here she is throwing a little attitude out there! Love it!
This is darling! Such a darling group of girls who are all great friends! And look at that confident pose that Brianne has! I couldn't be prouder!

A Crismon football first EVER!!
What?!! Even Will is posing for the question! What is it that has never been done in football for a Crismon in our family?
Running the ball!!!! Yes that is #50, our Will, running the ball!
It was a goal line PAT, or extra point, in little league they don't do field goals. So here he is pushing through...
Still pushing....
And pushing a bit more...
Boom!! A TD for the extra point!!!!
Such an awesome moment! And STILL holding the ball! Coach Maurer was all ready for the high five!
YES!!!!! This is a million dollar shot! Way to go Will!!! YAY!!!!!

A pat on the back
When I stopped working this past summer the Vice Principal I worked for made me promise I wouldn't quit. She really wanted me to come back this school year!! She told me to think it over and to let her know by August what my decision was. I have to admit it was a tough decision because we can always use the money, but it wasn't REALLY about that. It was more about time. I wanted to have more time with my family and to be the kind of Mom I wanted to be! So at the end of this last school year I wasn't presented with a certificate because she wasn't sure I wasn't going to come back. Well, this past week Will brought this home. It was so kind of her to have it made for me! She's still a bit sad I didn't come back, but I always know where to go if I want to work again!
Last fall I received this award. It was very nice to be recognized and the free lunch was an added bonus! :) It's really nice to know that people you work for appreciate you and what you do for them. I never felt this way! I got pats on the back quite often from Mrs. McGee which really meant a lot!
I had to add this in too. My job entailed watching the in school suspension kids (or ISS) as well as kids involved in the ZAP program. One day while watching some kids in ISS one of the girls wrote this poem for me. It's hilarious! It says:
ISS is the best!
It makes my heart beat out of my chest.
No painting halls or drawing whales
Mrs Crismon's the best
unlike ISS
I just had to laugh! I had just taken away some drawings that she was doing because she was "bored" and reminded her that she needed to be doing her classwork. She read this poem out loud after she wrote it and I couldn't help but laugh! Then I asked if I could have it- it was just too funny not to keep! :)
I have to say that I am VERY glad I decided not to do the aide job this year. It's been wonderful to have more time and be able to get things done for my family! I am a volunteer maniac between my PTA position, High School Booster, YW advisor etc etc etc! So I have been able to handle it all much better! I am so grateful for my job as a Mom and wouldn't trade it for anything else! I LOVE IT!

Alta Black vs Herriman Navy
Will's game was against Herriman Navy this week and in the first quarter our team were playing great! Their offense was running just as it should!
The defense was doing great too until some mistakes in the second quarter. During half time we could all hear our defensive coach yelling at the boys. They had missed some big tackles and he didn't want to see another one.
Well.... he didn't! When they came back after the half they played even better! On both sides of the ball they were completely dominating!Herriman scored one touchdown but didn't get their extra point. We scored 38! Woo hoo!
Will played a great game too- he was working hard!
Chan was unable to make it during the first half (dentist appt) so Carter called him over and was giving him some advice :) I just love that!
And Brianne was over (as usual) cheering her little guts out!
Her and her friend Madison have a part in the dance together that they LOVE! They high five each other and then go back to back!
It's so cute seeing them together! They are great friends!
I took advantage of all the kids being at Wills game and snapped a picture of them! I just love my Hawk football family! :)
Carter didn't have a JV game this week, so no pictures, but the varsity played in the High School Football Challenge held at Rio Tinto Stadium. They played a team from New Jersey who were ranked in the top 20 in the country by Max Prep!! This team was UNREAL!! Fast and very talented. The first half of the game they made it seem as if we were standing still! Thankfully, we woke up a bit in the second half, but they still beat us by 20 points. I can't remember the exact score because we left in the 3rd quarter, it was painful to watch! But Carter's leg is feeling better and they are going to start slowly working him back in the mix this week. He may not play again this week.... we'll see!
