Happy birthday Will!!!

It's a tradition in our family to have the kids wake up to something for them on the kitchen island on their birthday! Usually there is balloons and a gift, but this year Chan made a home made three layer cake!! It turned out awesome and Will was very impressed!
It is also a tradition to do a simple yet fun breakfast and this year Will picked out cinnamon rolls that I warmed in the microwave for them.
This however was a first!! Will decided to dance his way through the birthday song! it was pretty cute!
Here he is with gift number one that he opened! A cool new transformer! Just when I thought they had them all they go and make another one!
Here is gift number two- a new nerf gun! This is an activity the kids share with their Dad- they LOVE to get into wars with each other! Even Brianne gets involved!

Will decided to stay home from school so we went to the scout store together to get him his new webelos stuff- since he advanced from bears last night. And then we went to Old Navy where he bought himself a new swim suit and top as well as flips. He loves to spend his birthday money!! :) then we went out to lunch together to the Asian buffet- his favorite place- because he LOVES sushi! It was fun to hang out with him and now he is off in the basement enjoying the time to play video games and hang out! Tonight we are going out as a family to dinner to celebrate him turning 10 and we'll do a little more shopping at toys-r-us. Such a great day!! Happy Birthday Will!!!

It's derby time!!

Here is a picture of Will at the end of the Pinewood Derby last night! He and Chan had to make a last minute car because they ran into problems with the one he had been working on, but even with all that he did pretty good. He came in last at almost EVERY race, but in usual Will style he handled it with true sportsmanship and because of that was awarded with the "best effort" trophy! He deserved it!! You should have seen him jump for joy when he came in 3rd one time! Too cute!He also got the best gaming car award because he named the car after a computer game he likes. I am proud of him and what a really good Scout he is!!

A must read...

Chan and I went to parent teacher conference last week and Will's teacher insisted that he bring home his journal so that he could share his writing with us. We already knew that Will is a very creative writer because he has ALWAYS been one, but I have to admit these stories in here are some of his BEST EVER! So I wanted to share one that made me laugh and thought you all might enjoy it too! Let me and Will know what you think! :)

Super Pencil
By William Crismon
10/01/08
A long time ago in Pencil City there lived a pencil who worked a nuclear plant. One day a circuit broke “Hey you” screamed the manager. He jumped in to save the man and he hit him away. He gets shot by the rays and he wakes up in the hospital feeling sick. The man that he saved said, “Man you saved me” and then pencil says “I did” and then he said “Ya the doc said he would get you out ASAP- well see ya.”
And in the desert the dynamic Dr. Glue is planning an evil plot to shoot lasers at the city. So it will be destroyed and he could take over the world and destroy it piece by piece, starting with Pencil City because they kicked him out of the city because he was different. So he wanted revenge on them. The next day Dr. Glue left the desert to go back to Pencil City.
“AH finally home” pencil said. Right as he walked through the door- “SURPRISE”- yelled his family. It was his birthday and he totally forgot. He started to cry, “Thanks, that’s what family is for.” Later that night he was up late eating cake and his wife yells, “ Honey are you coming to bed?” He yelled, “YA”. Next thing you know he flew and he was amazed to see that he landed. Now he ran super fast he picked up his 100 pound weight with one finger and didn’t break. “The nuclear blast it must have given me powers! Let’s see what other powers I have.” He looked at his car a 1999 model of the Toyota Corolla. Suddenly it turned into the new pencil model. He got in and there was a cool GPS, nitro shooters and could go 40,060 miles per hour!!! He took it out for a spin and when he came back it was morning. He went in to change and the door was broken down. He ran in and was shocked. He searched everywhere and no one was there. There was a note on the fridge with a glue magnet. It read, “Dear Mr. Pencil, I have taken your family for ransom. For your family to return safely I need 1 million dollars in cash for ransom and with hate, Dr Glue.” “P.S. And a cheeseburger”. What the heck??!!! One million dollars in CASH!! That is a lot! How am I going to get that much money? I got an idea! A lemonade stand!! Five cents- wait this is not going to work unless I use my powers. That is the only way!! Let’s see if I can make a super suit. Ok, cut here, sew there, glue here, bullet proof vest, right here, a little stitch…DONE! All right, let’s get this done! All right computer BOB, are you uploaded? “YES SIR”. Okay three, two, one and we’re up woo hoo! Ooops this is where I don’t want to go- YIKES! Okay the desert. Let’s check all of them. Is it southern- no, western- no, eastern –no, northern- YES! BOOM! Ha it’s up Dr. Glue I found you! Dr. Glue area scan please computer BOB “ YES SIR, AREA SCAN STARTING 3,2,1………….AREA SCAN POSITIVE.” Wait show me please. “ OKAY SIR.” There they are!!
Dr. Glue is telling Mr. Pencils family, “Looks like your husband is too afraid to fight me himself. “ Just as he says that Mr. Pencil arrives and says, “No I wasn’t!! Take this…” Punches and kicks were flying through the air. Dr. Glues glue was spilling everywhere!! Dr. Glue says, “Your on my last nerve Mr. Pencil” so he pulls out his super hot glue gun and shoots it. But Mr. Pencil deflects it and it hits him right back and it sends him to outer space!! As he flies away he yells, “I’ll be back!!” Mr. Pencil says, ”We won’t see him anytime soon. His kids say, “Ya, your right Dad.” Hey I am not your Dad! “Yes you are!” No I am really NOT your Dad! “Then why are you wearing Dad’s Wedding ring?” Okay, you win. I will beat you home- C’mon!! “But we have no transportation.” Okay I will carry you all.
THE END………………FOR NOW

Never falls "FLATT"

Boy oh boy am I a lucky girl!!! Chan bought tickets for me and him to go to the Rascall Flatts concert last night- it was a gift for me for Valentines Day/ my birthday. Well "juror #5" was deliberating and called me about 2 hours before the concert and said he couldn't go. :( To say I was bummed was an understatement!!! I was just going to take Carter with me, but he suggested I call Brittany to see if she could go....... so I did....... she was supposed to go to her college class but would you say no to floor seats at a concert versus going to school? Neither did she!!!!

We decided to go get some grub at Applebee's before hand (and she treated- thanks Brit!!) and then we were off to see Rascall Flatts!! We were both mad at ourselves for forgetting our cameras, but thanks to photobucket I found some for your pleasure! We had some trouble finding where to go to get to our seats, but went from one usher to another, who just kept guiding us downward to yet another usher- etc etc etc. Once we got to this last usher, where I truly thought our tickets were, he pointed us to yet another guy who he said would give us bracelets so we could go down. DID HE JUST SAY DOWN??!!! Yip, that's right, we were right on the floor next to the stage!!!! I have NEVER been so close at a concert before- and neither had Brit- she said she thought it was only for celebrities and winners of the radio contests!! It all started out with Jessica Simpson- who did a great job- then it was a bit of a break and then.....

THERE THEY WERE!!!! In this photo- had it been Salt Lake- you would have seen Brit and I in a similar shot- screaming of course!! At one point we did actually TOUCH a couple of the guys! They were incredible- they never fell "Flatt" on ANY of their songs! In fact they are better in person- always a sign of an incredible band. It was an amazing concert!!! They can definitely put on an amazing show- and thanks again to Brit for coming along last minute to share it with me- it was a blast!! Can't wait to do it again sometime- thanks Chan for an AWESOME gift!! I love ya!

Boys night out with Papa

All I can say to this is OH MAN!!!! My boys are stinking lucky! Their Grandpa (Papa) has been a season ticket holder for the Jazz for over 20 years- so with that he will occasionally get some perks. Well he got a major one on Monday night that he shared with Carter, Will and their cousin Dakota. They went early before the game and along with 1 other person got to meet ALL the players and the coach, have them autograph their hats (that Papa also bought them before going in) and take a few photos with them!! They spent about an hour watching the team warm up and getting their hats signed before going to their usual seats and watching the game. And of course- they won! It was a HUGE day for them. It took me about a half hour to get them calm enough to go to bed! And I am sure they had dreams about it too! It was truly a magical night and they owe their Papa big time for sharing it with them! Grandparents are the best aren't they? WOW!! GO JAZZ!! Carter had my camera and got the few shots I put in here and Tom brought me over a picture CD with some more- so I may add more photos later from their big night! Keep an eye out!
