Last Friday evening we heard our doorbell ring at about 9:30pm and I was wondering who it could be when I opened the door and saw this in our yard!
Carter's team Mom had gone around to all the boys homes and "decorated" their front yard with a sign and some streamers! It was a fun surprise so I called Carter out to get a shot of him with his sign! Now notice- there is nothing on the ground aside from a few leaves- it was windy and cold- but that was it! (I know you can't tell by what he is wearing, but we weren't out there very long!)
Will and I were the first ones to the field Saturday morning! Chan was still out of town (he got home just in time to see the 2nd and 3rd quarters of Will's game before heading off to Carter's) so Kathy helped me get Carter and Brianne to the field. That morning I did some "war paint" on all the boys before their game!
The sun was still out and it was only about 25 degrees and they game began- but the sky was looking very ominous!
It wasn't long before THIS began- yes that's right.......SNOW!!! We were very lucky to avoid it up to this point, but man it sure hit hard! Will's game was intense and was tied 7 to 7 at the half.
It only got more intense as the weather got more intense!! It was an all out battle and even went into overtime!
But in the end they lost in overtime 7 to 13........ it was a tough loss, but up until that game they had won every single game!! So they went away with their heads held high!
So you would think that with weather like this cheerleaders wouldn't show up right? Well.........
you were WRONG!!! yes that is the cheerleaders under the tent! On occasion they would wander out into the snow to do their cheers! Talk about troopers!!
I was so proud of Brianne this year and her cheer leading- she really does a great job and it has been sooooo fun to watch her do it!
This was a shot of her under the tent during half time! She was pretty darn cold!
Check out the wind........ see how bad the flag is blowing? Yeah so fun!!!!
After the half it got even worse- my camera lens wouldn't stop fogging up!! But I liked this shot because it shows the helmet sticker the team mom got for the team just for the playoffs- it says United!
The snow was blowing just crazy and Carter's game was just as intense and Will's but because of the weather was even more extreme. It's tough to play in this kind of weather!!!
His game was an all out battle as well, and they made a few crucial mistakes that got Bingham on top.
But they didn't give up and got within 5 points and were trying their hardest to get one more touchdown for the win!
Unfortunately they came up short- this was their huddle after losing the game. They played well and had a great season!!
I just had to get these last two shots in- this one is of Gamma Kathy lending Will some gloves and a hat after his game so he could endure the cold!
And this is a shot of some die hard fans!!! That's right- Gamma Kathy and Papa Tom enduring the freezing cold weather to watch their grand kids! Aren't they the BEST!!! What a great season we've had!! GO HAWKS!!

Time to Dance!!

So as you can see on the poster behind Will......it's time to DANCE!!!! This past weekend BOTH boys won their games which means it's on to the BIG GAME............ STATE!!! Woo Hoo!!
Tom and Kathy were Will's driver/cheerleaders to his game against Skyline last Saturday so that I could go to see Carter's playoff game......thanks Gamma and Papa!!!
Go Hawks is right!!!
I love this shot of Chan at Carter's game- he is such a great coach- always there for the boys and knows when to be serious and when to have fun with them!
Carter had a great game and it was fun to watch them go up against this East team again and beat them this time!! ;)
Go Carter Go!!!!
This game was a good one- a real nail biter- but isn't that how playoff games SHOULD be?!!
Chan pulled aside a few of the lineman he works with to give them a little instruction
This was the final score for Carter's game.....WOW!!
The cute cheerleaders had to be even louder with fewer numbers- not all of them made it up to Park City
I love watching Brianne do her dance- she makes the GREATEST facial expressions!!
Here's a shot of one of those faces!
What can I say GO HAWKS!!!! I am soooooooooo ready to DANCE!!! LET'S GO!!

Party Time!! :)

This past Friday afternoon Brianne had her birthday party! I have been planning it for a while- it was called "My favorite color is blue birthday party!" So of course as part of the invitation we asked the girls who came to wear their favorite blue outfit! And as they arrived we HAD to paint their nails blue!
Next we sat down to make some blue bead bracelets! This was fun- each girl had the same kit but each of them made them differently!
It really showed all the girls personalities! Some took their time and others were done really fast!
Next it was on to our Blue fashion show! We put on Brianne's favorite music CD and each girl got a chance to break through the "curtain" and strike their favorite pose! It was fun to get shots of each of the girls, and I am printing those pictures out to give to the girls in their thank you cards!
Then it was on to a bubble blowing contest! This was funny! Some of the girls didn't know how, but tried anyway, but it was just fun to watch them try!
Then it was on to the cake! It looks kinda scary, but Chan and Brianne made it together! Brianne picked all the ingredients (which was strawberry and chocolate) and then we HAD to add blue frosting!! It was a BLUE party after all!
It was a great time and I had fun assembling blue goodie bags for all the girls to take home! I forgot to get a picture of those- but it had everything from blue fruit by the foot to blue eye shadow in a blue hello kitty bag with their name on it! So fun!! Happy 8th Brianne!!

Brianne's birthday day!!

Yesterday was Brianne's 8th Birthday so as to our family tradition she woke up to balloons and a couple of gifts and favorite things on the kitchen counter!
She was all smiles when she got up and was excited to see the spread on the counter and she could smell the yummy cinnamon and orange rolls that I had made for breakfast! (don't get too excited they were the frozen ready to bake kind- hee hee)
I even had some hot water in the kettle so we could make some hot chocolate- Carter is having some in this picture- but Brianne was ready to tear into the gifts!
We got her a new game for her Nintendo DS and the new Tinkerbell movie and both were a big hit! :) Then it was time to get her brothers off to school so Brianne and I gave them a ride and came back home to get ready for the day! Then we were off.....
We went by to see Gamma Kathy first and get a birthday card from her and visit which was really fun! Gamma and Papa were also generous for her Birthday and so with some money in hand from them and others (thanks everybody!!!) we were off to have some lunch together before heading to the mall!
Brianne's pick for lunch was Mimi's Cafe! It was nice to sit together and talk and have some yummy food!
The waitress even brought her a birthday surprise and wished her a happy birthday! After she ate her yummy ice cream we went to the mall and spent some of her birthday money on some fun things and some needed things! She got another DS game, some new boots, nail polish and other things- it was fun! We used up all the time we had together before having to go and pick up her brothers. There's nothing quite as fun as a birthday day with Mom!! Love you Brianne!!

A Spooky Saturday!!!

Well as usual our Saturday began at two football games! It was the last game of the regular season for the boys ( and cheerleader Brianne too)!! Will's game was against Kearns and Papa was kind enough to join me to cheer him on!
Will got to play offense and defense that game and was having a tough time cuz there were some big boys on the other team- so Papa went over to give him some advice! :)
And since it was Halloween we figured some war paint was in order!
It was a great game and their team won giving them an undefeated record! Way to go Alta Grey!!
Carter's team played Stansbury and Carter had a big guy to go up against as well! You can see how tall he is in this photo he is the one next to #51, but Carter held his own!!
It was a very cold game to start because of wind but thankfully it warmed up and so did the team! They were on fire!
I sent my camera with Chan to take these shots because I didn't get as many of Carter this season and so I have to give him props for taking a LOT of teasing from the other coaches! Thanks babe!! Love you!!
They had a great game as well and won their game too! So it looks like both boys are headed to the playoffs next week!
Thanks to Chan I got some great pics of Brianne and her cheer squad too and since it was Halloween they decided to be zombie cheerleaders and they all came with zombie hair and make-up!
Here is a shot of them doing their dance! Pretty cute!! :)
Here they are cheering on the team! Looking rather scary too!!
Isn't she a cute zombie!! Did you spot the spiders I drew on her shirt?
I believe she was doing the dance in this shot- looks like she was concentrating! Or maybe just trying to be scary!!
So since Brianne was a zombie for cheer I decided that it just made sense for her to be that for when she went out trick or treating! Here she is posed by a pumpkin carved by her uncle Mark getting ready to gather some yummy treats! (Thanks Brooke and Mark for having us!!)
Carter was a chef that had an "accident"! In this shot he's not wearing his head piece (It's in his pocket) check the group photo below to see what I mean! Maybe he was trying to look like the pumpkin?
Will was the first to pose and said this was his favorite pumpkin! He was a "gangsta" as he calls it! Looks pretty good!!
Here is the group photo (see what I mean about Carter- quite an accident huh?) Their cousin Dakota is also in the picture- and yes Brianne is doing splits!
I had to include some pics of their other cousins there as well- this is Myles- SOOOOOOO darling!!! He was a dragon for Halloween and was more interested in going trick or treating than getting a photo taken! He was so fun!
Here is little Sophie! She was a pea pod for Halloween, but unfortunately never made it into her costume! Brooke said she'll get her into it for a photo later! That's what happens when they are this little I guess!
In Chan's family it has been a tradition to have chili for Halloween. He remembers eating it at his Grandmas when he was little- so of course we have done it every year! It wasn't a favorite with the kids when they were real little but now they expect it and actually EAT it! It's a family recipe and it is YUMMY! nothing like chili to warm up your tummy before heading out in the cold! But on this night the weather was perfect and the kids got some good loot! Happy Halloween everyone!! :)
