Who's it gonna be?

One of my favorite things about the kids elementary school is that they post what teacher they have a week before school starts on the doors of the school! So after much anticipation Brianne was running to the 2nd grade doors to see what teacher she got!
This is her staring at the lists trying to figure out who it would be- she was hoping for Mrs. Moss!
YES success!!! She was soooooo exited to see that she got Mrs. Moss!! Just who she wanted and her good friend Whitnee was in there too! woo hoo!
So now that they knew what teachers they had and summer was coming to a close- we decided we had to do something fun the last day of their summer vacation! So we went to Ihop for breakfast first...
There is just nothing better than Ihop pancakes!! And we were sad that Dad couldn't come with us- dang work!!
And of course you can't go to breakfast there without getting their "kid coffee"- good old hot chocolate!!
The kids all ate their yummy breakfast and then we went home for a bit to digest...
Then it was time for Carter to go to his workout and we all waited for him to be done so we could go and do our next activity...
After he was done we all went to All Star Lanes and played two games of bowling!! It was so fun and the perfect way to end summer vacation!
It was the best way to get our silliness out and prepare ourselves for a schedule and homework and all that again! Thanks kids for a fun day! :) Good luck in school!

FUN WITH GAMMA

It has been an awesome summer! We were able to go to Lake Powell, play with our family from Illinois, go to St. George and have LOTS of visits to Lagoon! And each time (except once) we went with Gamma Kathy! She is so much fun and loves to go to lagoon with me and the kids. I took this shot at our trip last week by her favorite ride- tidal wave!! But this trip to Lagoon it was VERY busy and the lines were long so......
Gamma decided it would be fun to do some airbrush and henna tattoos! Here is the one that she got on her hand- pretty cool huh?
This is a shot of the artist working on her tattoo
Here is a shot of the airbrush tattoo I got on my arm- a hawk with my boys football numbers :)
Here is Brianne's Alta cheerleader tattoo!
Here is Dakota's cool tat- we were all very impressed that she did this freehand!
Here is Will's airbrushed tat- of course his needed to be intimidating for when he's playing football! Carter's was similar for the same reason and looked like barbed wire! (forgot to add his pic :( )
This was taken while we were waiting in line for a coaster
Such a fun time!!
We love just laughing a lot and being very silly!!
You can tell right!!! Thanks for playing with us Gamma!!! :)

Practice makes perfect...

We have been spending the majority of our time in the evenings devoted to football practice! Chan is an assistant coach on Carter's team so he goes with him to all of his practices and I am then left to spend my time with Will at his. Brianne is the lucky one and gets to bounce between the two of them, has cheerleading practice with Carter's team on Fridays, and gets to be with Grandma one day too! Fun for her! And now that the teams have been putting together their playbooks it was time to do some practice games- better known as scrimmages!

This is Carter at one of his scrimmages last week. He has been playing very well and is very exited to get this season on!!
This is a picture of Chan along with the head coach Eric Knowles (in the red visor) and coach Puefua who is the other line coach along with Chan.
Here is Brianne at Carter's scrimmage- she was having fun with her fellow cheerleaders selling candy for a fundraiser!
The players with the orange beanies are the opposing team- it was just another Alta team, but hey it was a good match up!! :)
Here is Carter! He's getting so big!! He LOVES to play football and this year he is playing guard and tackle and has been working VERY hard outside of practice to better his game- we are very proud of him!
Here is Will's team getting ready to go up against another Alta team...
Will is right in the middle on this one in the black jersey- he is playing center and nose guard this year.
This is my attempt at an action shot- not very good I know!
This is Will getting in a quick drink before he went right back out!
Here he is in his practice jersey- he LOVES to play too and is becoming quite the animal- he even made the center on the opposing team cry! Way to go dude!

Another "Will-ism"

I don't know why but Will has been given the gift of humor from a very young age and has some real charm to boot, but more often than not he has me rolling so let me share his latest.

Last night after his 2 hour football practice we got his pads off and jumped in the truck along with Brianne and started heading for home when Will says from the back seat "Mom I smell like egg salad"! I know it's not his greatest, but I could not stop laughing because the funniest part about that statement was that he WASN'T joking!

I just love my kids- life would be freakin' boring with out them! :)

Changing things up a bit...

So anyone who knows me well knows that I change my hair often. I am always willing to do something new and mainly because I get sick of what I have rather quickly. I went VERY blonde and short for my birthday in March and when I called my friend last week to tell her it was time for a cut and color I wanted to keep the cut but change up the color. So I went to my cute hubby and asked him if he had any ideas and being just as adventurous as I am he suggested to add a bit of red! So when I went to get it done I asked my friend what she thought and she thought it was a great idea too- so red it was!! She put red and golden blonde highlights in it and I LOVE the way it turned out! So fun! And very appropriate for the upcoming football season since our colors are black white and RED! Go Alta!! Don't you just LOVE change!! :)

waiting and playing and then.......

Last week we had the pleasure of watching our Nephew Myles for the day! We were waiting for the big arrival of his new sister and so while we waited we played! I don't know what it is with kids and boxes but it is always a fun place to play so I emptied this one out for him and gave him some crayons to color it!
The kids always love to play with him when he comes over and this time they made him a fort and put his car seat in for the "throne" for the king! They even made him a crown!! So fun!
The kids also had fun reading him a book- Myles really liked that! He likes being read to- looks like Mom and Dad are doing a good job at home! :) And in just a few hours we got the call that Brooke had the new baby sister Sophie!! And we went to visit her and Mom the next day....
Here is Sophie and Mom!! She is the cutest little thing! I hope I remember this right 7 lbs 9 oz and 19 inches long! And she has a bunch of hair on her head too!
Doesn't she have cute little lips!! So pretty!!
Here we are with the new cousin! Can't wait to babysit her too! We love her!! The video below is of Myles playing a peekaboo game in the box- soooooo cute!! Gotta love kids!!

Results of the draft...

Well tryout week is FINALLY over!! They both had a great week and did very well! Thursday night Carter made it on to Coach Knolls team who is one of the A team coaches and will be playing both offense and defense as left guard and tackle. Carter's coach told him he was excited to have him on his team. Will just heard this morning that he was placed with Coach McDaniels and he is quite exited! Coach told Will he was glad to have him because he was a hard hitter- that made him smile!! Carter has already practiced with his new team, but Will doesn't start till Monday so we'll know more about his positions then- we'll keep you posted! GO ALTA!!
