This year we had the theme of #Embark! It went right along with the YW theme for 2015. We saved a lot of money this year because our camp was shorter and we didn't have to pay for a location so we were able to get these cute sweatshirts for all the girls and the leaders! We got this group shot on the lawn of the church before heading off to camp!
We were so blessed to be able to use our Stake President (Merrill) cabin this year! It's in a beautiful area up near Coalville Utah! It was about 30 minutes north of Park City. The view was stunning and the weather was lovely!
We had a great group of girls and we had so much fun!
When we got there we jumped right into getting to know you games! We had a few girls that came that will be joining us in beehives this year so we wanted all to feel welcome!
This is the group of leaders that came! The YW President (Teniel Hansen), 1st Counselor (Georgette Redford), 2nd Counselor (Marilyn Burt), Beehive Advisor (Amanda Rees) and myself- I am the Mia Maid Advisor! Our Laurel Advisor (Christy Clift) had planned on coming as well but had a new baby and decided it would be too tough to bring him up.
This cabin was SO accommodating! There was beds for almost all of us and this HUGE table was wonderful for meals, games and crafts!
Brianne got this shot of the view from the deck! Isn't it stunning??!
There was also ping pong table downstairs and the girls LOVED playing it and having little tournaments during their free time. We gave them quite a bit too- which was nice!
This was the game I found on pinterest and brought to do! It's night bowling! It didn't work as well as I would have liked since the ball I had was a little too light, but we had fun anyway!
There was quite a bit of wild life nearby! We had heard form the owner that they had seen moose quite a bit so we were hoping we'd see one and we DID!
The owners made a watering hole with a tub that the moose like to come and drink from and we were lucky enough to see one up close! This guy was really big!!
These games were so funny! The girls love to giggle and be silly but they also get quite serious when they need to get a job done! One game they learned at camp was bunny bunny and it was HILARIOUS! I never played it because I had WAY too much fun watching! It's loud, obnoxious and so fun! A few of the girls even got bruises from playing it because they were slapping their legs so hard! TRUE STORY!
On the last night our cute Bishop (Stephen and Karen Fitt) and his wife came up to do a devotional and have a testimony meeting. The girls talked him into getting his nails done first! And they took it serious! He had quite the nail job!
The testimony meeting was incredible! The spirit in that room was so strong and the girls shared very heartfelt testimonies of friendship, the scriptures, their mothers and so much more. It was impossible to not be touched by them! Right after is when they all gathered up for a group hug! They eventually got everyone in with them- including the leaders! What a special ending to an amazing few days!
I was so proud of Brianne for going and for completing her 2nd year camp requirements! She loves young women and not long after coming home from camp was asked to be the Beehive President. She is doing a great job and makes all the girls feel welcome! I know this will be a wonderful learning experience for her and to help her grow! Young Women is AWESOME!
